Body Found in Maple Grove ID’d as Missing Teen
According to law enforcement officials, a body found in a Maple Grove last week has been identified as a teen who went missing in March.
Maple Grove Police Cmdr. Jon Wetternach told CCX News that the body recovered from a pond near Lakeview Drive and 80th Avenue on April 11 has been identified as Winston Drepaul.
Volunteers had found the 18-year-old’s jacket on the edge of the same pond approximately two weeks ago.
Drepaul went missing on March 23 after he left his home without his wallet or cellphone.
His family told CCX News in an interview that he had been having mental health issues and was hospitalized before his disappearance.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released his autopsy results or his cause of death.
