‘Bib Necessary’: Brooklyn Park’s Cajun Deli Named Best Seafood in Minnesota
At Brooklyn Park’s Cajun Deli, which specializes in seafood boils, you may want to ask for a few extra napkins.
Nestled in the corner of the strip mall at Brooklyn Boulevard and West Broadway, the mom-and-pop shop doesn’t have a dress code.
That said, “Bib necessary, absolutely. Got to protect those clothes, you know?” said general manager Kevin Stammer.
Customers can pick from an array of different seafood options, ranging from crab to shrimp.
Once they select a spice level and a sauce, it’s up to the kitchen to put everything together.
“What we recommend is our house mix, which is a blend of our garlic and Louisiana [sauce] mixed together,” Stammer said. “It’s very flavorful, very delicious.”

The portions are massive and intended for sharing.
“I always tell customers when they come in, bring like, three or four people together,” Stammer said. “Get a big boil so you can just share.”
But, despite nearly a decade in business, a recent honor came as a surprise to management. Stammer heard it first from his customers.
“Honestly, I thought it was a joke,” Stammer said.
Yelp named Cajun Deli the best seafood in Minnesota.
“Probably about the 20-30th person told me, and I had to look it up, you know,” Stammer said. “I was like, wait, this is real, you know?”
But it’s no surprise to their customers.
“It’s really good service, the food’s really great — fresh, super fast,” said Wendy McBurrows, a regular.
Cajun Deli is closed on Mondays, but is opens at 11 a.m. the rest of the week.
