‘Beer Poking’ Planned at OMNI Brewing’s ‘Bock Party’
A spring tradition called “beer poking” is planned for this Saturday at OMNI Brewing Co.’s “Bock Party.” It starts Saturday at 11 a.m.
There will be special beers and steins that people can poke with a red-hot iron that will caramelize some of the sugars inside the beer.
“It will make it a little bit ‘desserty’ and a new and interesting experience,” said Zach Ward, head brewer at OMNI.
Beer poking is a tradition in northern climates, usually taking place in the early spring when bock beers hit the market.
