Artist Installs Mural at North Hennepin Community College
A new mural in the fine arts building at North Hennepin Community College features a holographic display.
“After talking to the college, they said they wanted something that would brighten the space and welcome the students. The word “transform” is the word they chose,” said artist Moira Bateman. “These are holographic. So as people walk by, the lighting changed light and shadow of movement, the piece actually transforms.”
Fine Arts Faculty member Joshua Woof says it’s the first of three commissioned art works on campus that are going to be a part of truth and racial hearing transformation work.
“It gets your mind thinking and you can see connections in how the letters fit together,” explained Woof.
