Anticipation Builds for June Opening of New Hope Aquatic Park
After three years without a pool, excitement is building for the opening of New Hope’s new aquatic park. The $13 million water park, located to next to New Hope City Hall, is scheduled to open June 5.
The facility was supposed to open last year, but that was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The park features an eight-lane, 50-meter swimming pool with diving boards, a shallow water recreation pool and water slides.
“I think it’ll enhance the city of New Hope by providing an amenity to the local community. It’ll bring in, hopefully, people from farther away to what New Hope has to offer,” said Tony Portesan, New Hope’s recreation facility supervisor.
While the park could always use more lifeguards, most job positions at the park have been filled. Park capacity is expected to be reduced initially to COVID-19.
Single-day admission to the New Hope Aquatic Park will be $10. Seniors and veterans will get a discount. Unlimited season passes are available online.
