9-year-old Boy Shot, Injured By 7-year-old Brother
A Brooklyn Park boy was hospitalized after he was shot by his brother.
According to Brooklyn Park police, officers were dispatched at 10:41 p.m. to a home in the 7500 block of Freemont Avenue North on a report of a shooting.
Arriving officers found a 9-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the head. The boy was conscious when officers arrived.
They provided emergency aid to the boy and transported him to a local hospital. His wounds are not life-threatening, police said.
Investigators believe that the victim’s 7-year-old brother was handling a loaded handgun he found in the home when it fired, striking his brother.
Police detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
