Plymouth Middle School Students Observe 9/11
The 9-11 terrorist attacks happened 18 years ago, long before most current-day student were born. But the Robbinsdale School District says it’s important to make sure they “never forget.”
Every school in the district observed a September 11 remembrance Wednesday. Sixth-graders at Plymouth Middle School had an assembly where they heard from first responders as well as the district superintendent. Firefighters and police officers talked to the kids about their memories of the attacks, as well as what it’s like to work in emergency services. Between answering questions, right at 9:11 a.m., the kids observed a moment of silence in memory of the thousands killed in the 9-11 attacks.
Superintendent Carlton Jenkins tells CCX News he wants an even bigger district-wide remembrance next year.
