7 Candidates File for Golden Valley City Council
As the filing period for the Nov. 4, 2025 election closed this week, seven candidates opted to run for two seats on the Golden Valley City Council.
The candidates are Aaron Black, Joanie Clausen, Steve Dent, Tracey Fussy, Andy Johnson, Jean Kidd and Chris Queitzsch.
The two winners will take the seats currently held by Denise La Mere-Anderson and Gillian Rosenquist. Both announced that they were not running for re-election in July.

School Board Races
The Anoka-Hennepin and Wayzata school boards also have seats up for election in November.
Voters in Anoka-Hennepin’s District 3, which primarily includes precincts in Dayton and Champlin, will chose between incumbent Kacy Deschene and challenger Lorraine Coan.
Another six candidates have filed to run for three seats on the Wayzata School Board.
Incumbents Heidi Kader and Milind Sohoni are running for re-election.
Their challengers include Laura Conway, Julie Joseph, Kate Knight and Alicia Liddle.
