Local Teachers Named Semifinalists for MN Teacher of Year

Education Minnesota lists three local teachers among 40 semifinalists for its Minnesota Teacher of the Year.

The local semifinalists are as follows:

Lucas Staker teaches fifth grade at Birch Grove Elementary School for the Arts in the Osseo School District.

Wilbur Winkelman teaches fifth grade at Lakeview Elementary in the Robbinsdale School District.

Julie Kirchner teaches library, media and information skills at Meadow Ridge Elementary in the Wayzata School District.

The winner will be announced in May.
