19 Votes End Up the Difference in Brooklyn Park Election
Every vote counts. You’ve heard that saying and there’s proof of it in a Brooklyn Park race.
The race for the City Council in Brooklyn Park’s Central District was decided by just 19 votes.
Tonja West-Hafner defeated Christian Eriksen. City Clerk Devin Montero says Eriksen did not ask for a recount.
Believe it or not, there’s actually been closer races in Brooklyn Park election history. In 2012, Bob Mata defeated challenger Wynfred Russell by just five votes. This year, Russell challenged Mata again, and won by more than 800 votes.
