What are your qualifications for this office?
Prior to being elected State Representative, I spent nine years on the Golden Valley City Council. While serving as your representative, I have been an Assistant Minority Leader and Chair of the Government Operations Committee. Each year I have served in office, I have been named a Legislator of Distinction by the League of Minnesota Cities. I grew up in our community and my children attend Robbinsdale Public Schools. I have a background as Public Health Attorney.
What do you hope to accomplish in office?
We are the only state in the nation with a divided Legislature, and it has been difficult to pass needed investments. In spite of this, we have managed to pass insulin affordability legislation, police reform, and legislation to address the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet more needs to be done. We need to invest in our schools to help them recover from the pandemic. We need to invest in transportation and pass a bonding bill. We need to pass legislation to address the climate crisis.
