What are your qualifications for this office?
I was born and raised in the 5th District. My education consists of a combination of public, private and Catholic schools. My athletic and academic success gained me a full scholarship to the University of MN. I started opening businesses in 1990. I opened The Braid Factory is 1995 and for 25 years it’s been the most popular hair braiding salon in the Twin Cities, serving over 300,000 customers and counting. My business successes allowed me to retire in 2012.
What do you hope to accomplish in office?
I’m in this race for 1 reason. The social injustice and unrest which was brought to everyone’s attention by the killing of George Floyd and the aftermath of that incident. At this time, we need leaders and leadership that possess some very specific qualities. the ability to comfort, unify, communicate, identify problems, speak truthfully and sincerely about issues that bind us and define us as a district. Now is not the time for typical politicians with personal agendas, and partisan biases.
