What are your qualifications for this office?
I’m in my 2nd term on the Robbinsdale School Board, serving two years as board chair, two years as vice-chair, and one year as treasurer. I serve as the Minnesota School Board Association (MSBA) representative on the MN Department of Education’s Finance Working Group which addresses education funding issues facing the state and am a 10-year member of Robbinsdale Area Schools Legislative Action Coalition. I am also a member of the district’s Community Connect and Special Ed Advisory Committees.
What do you hope to accomplish in office?
I am running for a 3rd term because I still have work to do. I will continue to work to reduce the opportunity gap and diminish the digital divide for our students. I will apply my comprehensive knowledge of school finance at both the district and state level when making financial decisions. And, I will advocate for an equitable, safe educational experience for ALL students and staff. I will do this work through a lens of equity, teacher support, legislative advocacy and financial stewardship.
