Podcasting at CCX Create
Podcasting continues to grow in popularity, and while you can always invest in the gear and record a podcast at home, why not check out what CCX Media has available in its Create podcast room?
PREREQUISITES FOR USE
First things first, you need to attend an Orientation (1 hour) and a Podcasting class (1-2 hours). These are both offered in the Create class series. Visit our Learn how to make your own show/podcast page to get more information and to sign up for these sessions.
Both sessions are free to community members who reside in the cities of Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Crystal, Golden Valley, Maple Grove, New Hope, Osseo, Plymouth, and Robbinsdale. They are also free to those who live outside this area but are working on a project as an employee/volunteer of one of these cities or a locally-based nonprofit organization.
If you live outside these nine cities and are not working on a project for a city or local nonprofit, you can purchase a membership in order to use the podcast room.
PROHIBITED USE
A wide range of non-commercial programming can be recorded in the podcast room. Prohibited use includes:
- Any personal or family programs
- Programs produced for pay/hire (unless you are a local city or nonprofit employee)
- Any content that advertises products or services
- Any content containing obscene material, sexually explicit conduct, or violates any local, state or federal law
- Any content promoting a lottery or seeking to raise money for an organization
REQUIREMENTS FOR USE
All programming recorded in the Create podcast room must air on CCX Media’s Create channels CCX2 (channel 859) and CCX3 (channel 20). Both channels livestream on the CCX Media website, ccxmedia.org.
HOURS OF USE
The Create podcast room is open
- Tuesday and Wednesday 1pm-9pm,
- Thursday and Saturday 9am-5pm, and
- Friday 1pm-5pm.
BOOKING THE PODCAST ROOM
Podcast sessions are 2-3 hours in length and can be booked using CCX Create’s RueShare system. Please contact Create staff at create@ccxmedia.org or 763.278.4330 for sign-in details.
