Create Members Elect Kevin Vandenberg for a Second Term
Create members elected Kevin Vandenberg of Golden Valley to serve a second term on the CCX Media Board of Directors.
There were 22 votes cast in the election for the seat, and Vandenberg won with 13 votes in his favor.
In Vandenberg’s candidate statement, he highlighted his work serving on the board and serving on the Create Action Commitee.
“During the last two years, the board and commission have engaged in some challenging topics including how the Cable Franchise Agreements, which provide the funding for CCX Media (including Create), aren’t in step with current products offered by the cable companies. As a result, less funding is reaching CCX as more of the residents cut the cord and stop buying Cable Programming Packages, which are covered in the agreement, and instead pay for Broadband Internet and Streaming services, which are not covered,” wrote Vandenberg in his statement. “It is complex. But it is very real.”
Vandenberg’s second term runs from Jan. 1, 2025 to Dec. 31, 2026. He is from Golden Valley.
A special thank you to candidates Max Gable and Ilona Parunakova for their willingness to serve and be on the ballot.
