Robbinsdale Switching Citywide Solid Waste Collector in April
Changes are coming to curbside solid waste service in the City of Robbinsdale.
“Our waste hauler is changing after decades from Waste Management to Republic Services of the Twin Cities,” said City Clerk Chase Peterson-Etem. “The change is going to happen on April 1st for residents.”
The city is still working out the details of switching out collection carts and dates and times for that, but Peterson-Etem said the service will be switched at the designated date.
The other changes are that recycling pick-up will now switch to a bi-weekly schedule for all customers, and curbside organic recycling will take place on the same day as garbage pick-up.
“We want to make it as easy and as seamless for our residents as we can. Expect the same day as pick-up for trash. The recycling might be a different week than you’re used to,” he added.
The other change is the end of city-issued stickers for bulk waste pick-up. Now, customers will be able to contact Republic Services directly for pick-up of larger items. Anyone still with city-issued bulk waste stickers need to use them by the end of March.
