Robbinsdale Set to Host Lakeview Terrace Farmers Market for Third Season
This summer will be the third season for the Lakeview Terrace Farmers Market in Robbinsdale.
“It’s for the family, and we want families to come out,” said Chaz Sandifer, the founder and CEO of theNEWMpls, which puts on the market. “A little bit for everyone.”
The market will be set up on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. between May 18 and September 21 at the northeast corner of Bottineau Boulevard/Highway 81 and Lakelane Avenue, across from the Robbinsdale HyVee.
“We’re right in the heart of everything, so we want all surrounding communities to have a chance to have this access,” said Sandifer, who added that there are fitness classes every week and other workshops for people to learn how to shop for healthy foods–and prepare them–on a budget.
“It’s been a great partnership with the city to bring this initiative,” said Sandifer. “Our awareness to food and health and wellness is really big for our business but also to share with others and give them the opportunity to access affordable and accessible health and wellness.”
Vendors are still signing up for the new season, she said. Sandifer also noted that Robbinsdale is uniquely situated to connect other suburbs with Minneapolis.
“I think Robbinsdale is doing a great thing by change,” said Sandifer. “They’re implementing new ideas, bringing in new resources, and lots of partnerships that are sustainable and tangible to the community that’s creating what we need, which is the healthy lifestyle.”
