Robbinsdale Rec Offering Pickleball For First Time
For the first time, the City of Robbinsdale will offer pickleball through the Parks and Recreation Department this fall.

Robbinsdale is offering futsal classes and leagues this fall and winter.
The city will host two clinics in September at Robbinsdale Community Gym.
“It gives you an opportunity to play a very social sport with your loved ones, essentially,” said Recreation Programs Coordinator Joel Ginn. “See if it’s something you’d be interested in. And later on in the spring and late winter is when we’ll have a full league for that as well.”
Pickleball is just one of the offerings the city has in the fall. Futsal and flag football–including girls clinics and girls-only teams in league play–are also available.
The city is able to offer these through Hennepin County Youth Activities Grants.
“Their support has been a game-changer and that’s kind of ramping up the programming we currently have and as we attack our initiatives,” said Ginn. “In particular, an initiative that’s important to us is our girls-focused programs.”

The city’s recreation department is also heading up the Birdtown Boo Bash on Friday, October 3 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sanborn Park.
