Robbinsdale Planning Full Summer of Fun Activities for the Whole Family
Summer’s almost here, and the City of Robbinsdale has a slate full of activities planned to appeal to just about every member of your family.
The city’s summer camp programs–formerly known as Sanborn Super Summer–is now called Birdtown Summer Blast and will take place Monday-Thursday every week between June 10 and August 8 at both Manor and Sanborn Parks.
“It’s a great way for the kids to get out of the house,” said Robbinsdale Community Engagement Specialist Will Cardenas. He said the cost is $29 per week, and each week will include a different theme. Kids can be signed up for separate weeks at a time, he said.
The city is also gearing up for its summer baseball league, open to kids ages four to 12. Robbinsdale hosts the baseball league in conjunction with nearby Crystal. At the end of the league, which also runs from June 10 to August 8, the city will host the Minnesota Twins for a baseball camp.
“Expect (Twins mascot) T.C. Bear, (and) expect a lot of fun and some Twins coaches coming out to teach the kids,” said Cardenas.
Also, the city will host Movies in the Park again, and Cardenas said there are plans to have free popsicles in the parks on select days throughout the summer.
