Robbinsdale Leaders Seek to Grow Sustainability Efforts
Some updates to the City of Robbinsdale’s Energy Action Plan are happening as the city expands its offerings for how residents can practice more energy conservation and more sustainable practices.
“The original Energy Action Plan established an energy reduction goal for the city, citywide,” said Sustainabilty Coordinator Kayla Kirtz. “It also set some targets based on residential and business energy consumption as well as renewable energies and reducing energy burden.”

The City of Robbinsdale’s first electric vehicle charging station is now open at Lakeview Terrace Park.
Now, the city has finally established its first city-operated electric vehicle charging station at Lakeview Terrace Park.
“We are also working to really re-work the resources that we have available to residents on our city website: flyers, information, hand-outs,” said Kirtz. “We’re kind of starting at square one, which is our city website, our main resource hub.”
Kirtz said the city will also have more resources available to hand out to those interested at citywide events like Whiz Bang Days and the chamber of commerce’s Meet and Greet in the early fall.
“Its a way for the City of Robbinsdale to set a strategic plan to prioritize sustainability and energy reduction all in the name of reducing emissions,” she said.
