Restaurant Week in Brooklyn Park Invites People to Try New Businesses
Edinburgh U.S.A. offers more than just a place to enjoy 18 holes of golf.
Its on-site restaurant offers locally-sourced, from scratch, comfort food with a tasty international twist.

Chef Kevin Aho prepares a signature pasta dish in his kitchen at Tavern at Edinburgh in Brooklyn Park.
“We have everything ranging from great sandwiches, elevated burgers, elevated chicken sandwiches to if you want to come in at dinner time we got your steak frites. We got a New York formage. You know so we got some French with a little bit of Italian too,” said Chef Kevin Aho.
Chef Kevin Aho is always ready to tempt taste-buds with his creations at Tavern at Edinburgh.
The restaurant is still relatively new on the food scene.
It took over the former D’amico and Sons space and began serving up its food to hungry golfers and the public in March.
“We get people in here all the time and they’re like, ‘Wow you have food like this at a golf course? This is crazy,'” said Aho.
Introducing people to the new restaurants in Brooklyn Park like Tavern at Edinburgh, is part of the reason behind the city’s upcoming Restaurant Week.
“From September 22nd through the 28th we really want our Brooklyn Park community to go out, support these businesses and then also they may find their new favorite spot and that’s kind of our hope,” said City of Brooklyn Park Project Facilitator Josephine Thao.
Thao says this is the 7th year for Brooklyn Park’s Restaurant Week and it’s bigger than ever with a variety of restaurants offering different types of cuisines.
“We have Brazilian cuisine. We have Venezuelan cuisine. Of course Italian. There’s been fusions regarding American and Brazilian breakfast. Of course Chinese, Japanese, and Mexican,” says Thao.
Restaurant-goers can expect menu items at a reduced price and other discounts at participating restaurants.
“At the end of the day, we want our residents and our community to know that our restaurants are here to stay and that you can work here, but then also enjoy dining in at various businesses,” says Thao.
Chef Aho is looking forward to serving first-time customers and hopes diners come away with great memories of his food.
“My biggest thing is coming out seeing smiles. People taking pictures of food. I love it,” says Aho.
