Osseo Seeks Election Judges from Both Major Parties
Osseo is gearing up for a busy election year later in 2026, and it needs election judges.
The one-precinct town uses 12 total election judges, and City Clerk Natalie Santillo said the city is looking for more party balance among its judges.
“We have an even number of judges who are from affiliated parties, so the DFL and GOP and that insures fair and honest elections are run on the local level,” said Santillo. “Osseo has a lot of DFL-affiliated election judges who are willing to serve as election judges and we need more GOP-affliated election judges to step up.”
The city will host a three-hour training at some point before the primary on August 11, and anyone who is interested is welcome to inquire.
“It’s a great way to serve the community. It’s also a great way to get to know your neighbors,” said Santillo. “Everybody who serves as an election judge in Osseo is from here, and it can make a big difference, and election judges are part of what makes election day go as smoothly as it does.”
