Osseo Nearly Set for Slate of Music and Movies in the Park This Summer

City of Osseo leaders are putting the finishing touches on the slate of performers and movies to take center stage in this summer’s popular Music and Movies in the Park series held on Tuesdays at Boerboom Park.

Teddy Bear Band will once again play this summer at Osseo’s Music and Movies in the Park.

“We’ve had subcommittees through Parks and Rec and they’ve been working on these for the past two months already just being able to narrow down dates for all those performers,” said Assistant City Administrator Alicia Vickerman.

Vickerman said the slate, so far, is as follows:

• June 3: Generation Radio performing with a showing of Sonic The Hedgehog 3 to follow
• July 8: Teddy Bear Band performing with a showing of Paddington in Peru to follow
• August 12: Jesse Becker performing with a showing of the first half of Wicked (Part 1) to follow
• August 19: Penny Lane performing with a showing of the second half of Wicked (Part 1) to follow

Vickerman said more bands and movies could be added soon. She said the city is also looking for businesses to be involved with sponsorships on any level.

“We will be kind of reaching out to the community to see if other people might be interested in the emcee portion of the evening,” said Vickerman. “We have some long-time Osseo volunteers who might be willing to share a little bit and spread their knowledge and let some other people step in and be more of a host for the evening.”
