Osseo Community Center Provides a Space for Connection
For some, winter can feel long and isolating.
But in the heart of Osseo, there’s a space for the public to socialize, learn, and exercise together.
That social venue is the Community Center inside Osseo’s City Hall and it’s a hub for city-run activities.
“The space is very welcoming and open,” says Osseo Senior Center Coordinator Ann Schneider. “Weekly we’ve got our senior activities, our exercise classes, Bingo, and 500,” says Schneider.
The site also hosts blood drives, church services, business meetings, and other private events.
“We welcome community members to hold birthday parties, commencement parties, anniversary parties,” says Schneider. “We’ve done a lot of celebrations of life.”

The Community Center draws the public in with its kitchen you can serve food from, accessibility, and ample seating.
“There is seating for 140 in the Community Center. It can also fit up to 240 standing,” says Erin Haugen, Administrative Assistant for the City of Osseo.
Another popular feature of the Community Center is its patio, which allows you to extend your festivities to the outdoors.
“It gives a little bit of extended room for your guests to hang out out there and get a little air,” says Haugen.
To make sure your next celebration has a home here, city officials suggest reserving your date early.
After all the Osseo Community Center is popular for many reasons.
“It’s bringing generations together, you know bringing your seniors together, kids who are graduating together,” says Schneider. “It’s just the essence of community.”
