New Osseo Store Showcases Local Identity With Specially-Designed Clothes
A unique clothing store is adding some flair to Osseo’s downtown. The 32nd Collective moved into its storefront this November.
Previously, the store was a hardware shop.
Featuring original designs by Osseo resident Aaron Silva, 32nd Collective is striking a chord with residents in more ways than one.
Silva’s original creations include The Natives brand, a Native American streetwear line, as well as a line of t-shirts that feature sports team and pop-culture mash-ups and nostalgic locations.
“We have a Minnesota section of the store that are paying tribute to old places that don’t exist anymore,” says Silva. “But people really loved or had great memories with.”
The 32nd Collective also carries Silva’s new school spirit brand called “Rivals.”
The brand includes hats, sweaters, and t-shirts that come in adult and kid sizes.
“Right now we are focusing on Osseo and Maple Grove. It is our plan to keep expanding out to different schools,” says Silva.
Operating the Store a Joint Effort
Silva, a former Osseo grad, and his wife Ashlynn, a Maple Grove alum, run the store together.
“We compliment each other very well. Everything he does, I can’t do, and everything I do, he can’t do, and so we are a good team and we work very well together,” says Ashlynn.
“She’s been everything. I’m just the creative side and she does everything else from managing to shipping to customer service. Without her, there would be none of this,” says Aaron.
Dream Come True
Before the store, the couple sold their items online.
Now, they are living out their dream.
“I just feel kind of blessed to have this opportunity. Ten years of hard work has paid off,” says Aaron.
The Osseo residents are excited to be part of the fabric of the community they cherish and hope their clothing brings customers together.
“We see customers walking by that are our neighbors or from the school,” says Ashlynn. “I think it just brings that pride of living in Osseo and now we get to share that with everyone else by offering unique products that they can wear to show that pride too.”
The store is open Tuesday through Saturday.
