Organics Recycling Available to Osseo Residents
Household solid waste collection customers in the City of Osseo can participate in organics recycling through the city’s hauler, Walters Recycling.
“I think more people are learning about how beneficial it is to be participating in the program with organics,” said Osseo City Clerk Natalie Santillo. “If you make it a normal part of your day-to-day life, it’s actually pretty simple to participate in.”
If customers can sort out food scraps and food-soiled paper products, and place them in a separate compostable waste bag, then haulers know it is organics and can separate it to be sent to a composting facility.

Osseo residents are eligible for organics curbside collection through the city’s hauler, Walters Recycling.
“Thirty to 50 percent of trash collection includes organics,” said Santillo. “So, 30 percent of your household are actually things that can put in an organics container and sent to a composting facility instead of going to a landfill.”
