Off-Broadway Musical Theatre: 50 Years of Affordable, Outdoor Performances in New Hope
Celebrating half a century of bringing the magic of musical theater to the local community, Off-Broadway Musical Theatre continues its longstanding tradition of providing affordable, full-scale productions in the great outdoors.
Their latest performance will transport guests to the enchanting world of the Von Trapp family and their musical journey in the beloved classic, The Sound of Music.
“I think it’s great being outside. People can come in the evening and just sit and relax and enjoy a great show,” said actor Dean Blom who portrays the family butler, Franz. “Our daughter, her husband, and our two grandsons are all involved in one way or another, so it’s become a really family event for us.”
Off Broadway Musical Theatre’s long-standing commitment to the community has made Off-Broadway Musical Theatre a cherished part of New Hope’s cultural landscape.
Theatre Group Gifted with New Amphitheater
To show their appreciation, in 2019 the city designed a new outdoor amphitheater for the group.
“They revamped the city park, and we were gifted with this beautiful facility for our theater productions,” explained Rachel Hemke, Board Member, Off Broadway Musical Theatre.
Audiences can mark their calendars for July 19 to July 22, and July 26 to July 29. All performances begin at 8 p.m.
