Nominate Someone in New Hope for the City’s Good Citizenship Award
New Hope city leaders are looking for nominations once again for this year’s Good Citizenship Award. City council bestows the honor on the unsung heroes of the city that may be doing something good for a neighbor, group, or the community as a whole.
“So many people are doing great things in the community, and not necessarily something that is huge or grand,” said New Hope Communications Coordinator Beth Kramer. “It could be something as easy as somebody helping their neighbors get shoveled out after a snow storm, or they’re volunteering for an organization or a school. We’re looking at ways members of our community are creating a more inclusive place for others to live, or maybe they’re adding environmentally sensitive things to their yard or doing things to help the environment.”
Nominations will be taken online between now and the end of March, Kramer said. City councilmembers will then consider the nominations and a winner will be announced and honored at a council meeting in the spring.
“We know that the strength of the community is really its people, and those inspiring stories inspire people to also do good,” said Kramer.
