Maple Grove’s Photo Contest Returns in June With New Categories
The City of Maple Grove’s Photo Contest returns in June, and residents have chances to showcase their talent–and their city–in unique ways.
Previous contestant and current contest judge Mark Schaffer said this is a perfect way to highlight parts of the city that you enjoy, and maybe show off something others have never seen before.
“There’s so much around Maple Grove. There’s the downtown area, the lakes, the walk paths, Central Park,” said Schaffer. “Do it in the morning, do it in the afternoon, do it at night. There’s lots of fun things you can do to showcase all the fun things we have here in Maple Grove.”
The contest is open for submissions June 1-30, and the categories this year are:
- Events
- Recreation
- Nature
- Animals
- Youth
“It’s also a good way for people to challenge themselves and develop some skills they didn’t know they had before,” said Schaffer.
The city is also trying something new this year: June 15 will be Picture the Grove Day. Participants are asked to photograph wherever they go in the city on that day, specifically.
