Maple Grove Supports, Welcomes New Businesses of All Sizes
Maple Grove city leaders continue work to attract and support new businesses of all sizes.
“Maple Grove has the second-most high retail concentration in the Twin Cities area, next to Mall of America, so we want to make sure we stay successful,” said Joe Hogeboom, the city’s community and economic development director. “We’ve had a very busy year, both with things opening and with things to come in 2026, so we’re excited about that.”

Duluth Trading Co. opened its latest store in The Shoppes at Arbor Lake in Maple Grove earlier this year.
Duluth Trading Company opened its latest store in the city earlier this year. Nearby, Northern Taphouse is moving into the long-vacant Red Lobster building, and could open by the end of the year. Culver’s will open next year by HyVee in the southwest corner of the city, and L.L. Bean announced one of its flagship stores will also open next year.

Culver’s is currently under construction by the HyVee in the southwest corner of Maple Grove.
Hogeboom said the city does what it can to support small businesses as well.
“One of the ways a smaller business can come in is through a business incubator site. So we have quite a few of those around the city where you have, for example, salons that feature many different type of professions that they can basically rent a space in, so if you’re not quite able to be large enough to branch out on your own, you can be a part of this conglomerate,” he said.
One of those businesses is Blooming Wellness Chiropractic, a one-room wholistic health practice run by Dr. Gracie Wendels out of the Salons by JC collaborative working space off Elm Creek Boulevard.
“Being here I get to learn from so many business owners themselves that are at different points in their life and they’ve kind of been teaching me so much, which has been awesome,” said Wendels, who just opened her practice in September. “I just wanted to create this space where people felt heard and understood when it comes to their care, like head to toe.”
Wendels said she’s also joined a chamber of commerce and has even reached out to small gyms and other chiropractors in the region, not just Maple Grove.
“To just kind of tap into the community here and understand we’re all wanting to help people get better–so why not join forces?” she said.
