Maple Grove Human Resources Works to Attract and Retain Top Talent
Maple Grove’s newest human resources specialist, Brianne Henkel, specializes in recruitment and retention. She works to attract the most qualified job applicants and works with hiring supervisors across the city’s many departments to make sure the postings get in front of the right people who can then apply.

The Central Park Skating Loop in Maple Grove will require seasonal employess, just some of the positions soon to be advertised by the City of Maple Grove.
But Henkel says the retention part of her job can mean many things.
“Getting recognition, collaborating with others on the team, with other departments, just getting that recognition and knowing that you are doing a great job, and what you are doing for the city serves a great purpose, and just getting that recognition from your leadership is huge as well and getting that fulfillment within your department, within your position, makes your employees want to stay,” she said.

Brianne Henkel, a human relations specialist focused on retention and recruitment for the City of Maple Grove, has been on the job since June.
Henkel said all of the city’s job openings are listed on the city website and on the League of Minnesota Cities website.
