Maple Grove Gravel Mining Area Development Continues
Construction continues at a rapid pace on the new Boston Scientific facility near the corner of Interstate 94 and U.S. Highway 169 in Maple Grove.
“It’s really coming along. It was only first brought to the city for approval in 2023, so it was a quick turnaround on this campus,” said City of Maple Grove Community and Economic Development Director Joe Hogeboom. “It definitely changes the view for this area.”
The site is a bit of an anchor for the transformed former gravel mining pit area in the city, first reclaimed for development about seven years ago.
“It’s ripe for development. It’s probably the only development on the belt line in the Twin Cities that has all of this land available,” he said. “Most of it is guided for businesses, industrial and commercial type businesses.”
Hogeboom pointed to the nine-phase Arbor Lakes Business Park, a sprawl of spec-type buildings housing businesses of all shapes and sizes, from light industrial to entertainment venues.
“It’s really neat to get these jobs here in the city,” said Hogeboom.
