Learn How You Can Track Development in Brooklyn Park

10:47 AM | Friday, March 20, 2026

If you’ve ever passed by a construction site in Brooklyn Park and wondered what’s going on over there? The city has a website that can help you.

“Sometimes people will just want to know what’s going on near where I live, or near where I work,” said Planning Director Paul Mogush, who said the city updates its online development projects map every week.

“If we ever have something that’s not updated or if there’s a technology problem with it, we hear about it,” said Mogush. “People will contact us about it because there’s a lot of folks who are looking at this regularly. It’s one of more popular maps on the city’s website.”

The map shows where major buildings, like stores and apartments are under construction.

It also highlights significant additions to large businesses, and can show when a business moves into an existing tenant space.

“People are really invested on what’s happening around them in their community,” said Mogush. “They want to know what new businesses are coming online, where there’s going to be job opportunities, where there’s going to be new housing,” says Mogush.

The interface allows users to zoom in for a closer look and get 3D renderings, floor plans, and specific details like a building’s total square footage.

Digital Tool is Mutually Beneficial to Neighbors and Businesses

Mogush said the tool is a win-win: it helps residents find new places to shop and eat, while supporting the local economy.

“People find it very useful. I’d say even we as staff find it useful to remind ourselves of what’s going on,” he said.

As Brooklyn Park continues to grow, Mogush said the map will be there to help people navigate the changes around them.

“We still have hundreds of of areas left to develop, especially in our Northwest area, where the city has its Brooklyn Park BioTech Innovation District so in the coming ten, twenty years, you are going to see a lot of change there and we’ll be documenting it here on the map,” said Mogush.
