Downtown Osseo Merchants Ready for Small Business Saturday
Nestled between the frenzy of Black Friday and the flash of Cyber Monday, lies the lesser-known but equally significant Small Business Saturday – a day dedicated to the support of local businesses.
It’s a day when downtown Osseo is transformed into a festive wonderland, which for one business owner is as good as it gets.
“In the holiday season, it’s just so cute, it’s like a Hallmark movie,” said Ashley Cook, Owner of Annabelle House. “Osseo is such a great town.”
For Cook, the journey of entrepreneurship has been especially rewarding.
“Being a female and having a business that is successful is fantastic… we’ve had so much support from this town too, which has been like the best part – getting other people, other business owners who come in like every day,” Cook said.
According to Cook, Small Business Saturday is a great opportunity for visitors to acquaint themselves with the town.

“Osseo is so small, and people don’t really know that we’re here. That’s why I love events like this, where we can bring people who maybe haven’t been here or don’t even know that we’re here, get them into town, and keep them coming back, which is great,” she explained.
As for what visitors can expect on Small Business Saturday, Cook shared some of the business community’s plans.
“We’re going to close down a part of Central [Avenue]. We’ll do fire pits out there, so people can come sit around the fire. They can shop all the stores here. Each business will have their own Small Business Saturday special that they’re going to offer,” said Cook.
Activities for Kids
The organizers have even considered young visitors who may need a break from shopping.
“Santa will be here. There’ll be coloring activities for them. They’ll be a photo booth area… so they can come and take pictures. There’ll be games out there, like bags, Jenga, things for them to play,” Cook said.
Osseo’s Small Business Saturday will take place on Saturday, November 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m..
