Crystal Announces Spring And Summer Recreation Sign-Up
Crystal residents may notice a new brochure in their mailbox from the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
The annual spring and summer recreation newsletter will include a mix of familiar and new offerings.
Community favorite events like Crystal Frolics, Young Mudder, and Water Day will be back, as well as several new outdoor pickleball courts.
The city is planning new play areas at Broadway and Welcome Parks, updated picnic shelters at Broadway and Crystal Highlands Parks, and a reimagined disc golf course and dog park at Bassett Creek Park.
New Separate Dog Park for Small and Large Breeds
“We’ve had a dog park at Bassett Creek Park for many years and it’s reached the end of its life,” said John Elholm, Crystal Recreation Director. “The new dog park will have a small dog area and a large dog area and a number of other nice features.”
The city has ten picnic shelters available for rent as well as a variety of rooms in the community center and sport fields.
Crystal’s Parks and Recreation offers classes and activities for all age groups and folks with disabilities.
