Brooklyn Park’s New Community Engagement Experience Manager ‘Wants To See Us Do Well’
Cindy Devonish started her new role as community engagement experience manager for the City of Brooklyn Park late last year after a career spent in corrections and the foster system for Hennepin County.

“I love working with people,” said Devonish. “I love to see us thrive and do well, and I think that’s why community engagement experience managers are so important and vital to this city.”
In her role, she oversees the overall outreach of the city across many departments. One such example lately has been the effort to gauge public feedback about how the city can best develop more than 700 acres in the northwest corner.
“We value our residents’ input,” said Devonish. “We have over 600 responses on it. We’re still collecting data.”
She said her experience with the county helped her build skills to help grow the relationship between the city and its residents and business owners.
“It’s very important for me to hear community voices and help increase positive outcomes through providing resources and supports,” she said.
