Brooklyn Park’s Eidem Farm to Keep Gates Open for Exploring This Summer
If you are looking to unwind and experience nature, head to Brooklyn Park’s Eidem Farm.
The historic farm is offering a variety of summer programs to get you in touch with your roots.
They are offering structured activities like story times on Tuesdays and a sustainability program for preschoolers and their parents.
But you can also just drop in.
From mid-May to early October, the farm features an open gate policy five days a week so families can come and have picnics and enjoy the site.
Of course a highlight is the animals.
Recreation Specialist Sammy Borzick says there’s four types of chickens, along with ducks and baby goats.
The gardens are also a draw.
“We have our gardens that are open for the public to explore and kind of see what is growing,” said Borzick. “We also have native gardens that they can look at.”
Everyone is welcome to the farm and now it will be easier than ever for everyone to feel that way.
Expanding accessibility has been one of Eidem Farm’s priorities.
They’ve installed new trails, added signage as well as a gravel padding for wheel chairs at their picnic area.
“It’s just really a place to come and explore nature and get your hands dirty and and just really just enjoy being outside,” said Borzick.
Borzick hopes people leave with a renewed sense of curiosity.
