Brooklyn Park Hosting Materials Reuse Donation Day Sept. 12
As we get toward the end of summer, you may be ready to clean up the garage.
Brooklyn Park has an opportunity to help get rid of all the things you may not need.
The city is hosting a Materials Reuse Donation Day on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Brooklyn Park Operations and Maintenance Facility, located at 8300 Noble Ave. N. It is also open for residents of Brooklyn Center, Crystal, and New Hope.
Two local nonprofit organizations will be on-site to collect reusable goods.
“Bridging will be here taking mattresses, box springs, and furniture,” says Recycling manager Tim Pratt. “They help folks in need set up households and so all those kinds of things that you need for that. We will also be working with Better Futures Minnesota, they take left over supplies from your do it yourself project and tools, and they sell them at their warehouse in Minneapolis and that money goes in to their job training programs for young men.”
The event gives items that still have use a second life instead of ending up in the trash.
