What are your qualifications for this office?
I have been a single mom for the majority of my adult life, and put myself through law school while my oldest son was in elementary school. I started my solo family law firm in 2004, building my small business from nothing into a successful law practice. My training as both an attorney and mediator has given me essential critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to help facilitate dispute resolution between parties who believed they could never find common ground.
What do you hope to accomplish in office?
My legislative priorities include the belief that racial justice and economic justice/prosperity are connected, that we indeed all do better when we all do better, as Paul Wellstone said. I am committed to dismantling structural racism, providing access to affordable healthcare and prescription drugs, supporting living wages and affordable housing, ensuring every child receives an education that prepares them for success in the future and funding critical infrastructure through robust bonding.
