2:48 PM | Wednesday, September 9, 2026

The Wayzata girls soccer team lost for the first time this season Tuesday, falling to rival Edina 2-1.

The Hornets broke a scoreless tie in the final minute of the first half when Mikaela Caverly picked off an errant pass and then set up Grace Gady for a goal.

Wayzata tied it 1-1 midway through the second half when Etta Foster’s corner kick was deflected in by Morgan Bryant.

Edina got the game winner on a corner kick with two minutes left.

Gady’s corner kick was knocked off the crossbar and Ainsley Graves nailed a perfect header on the rebound to give the Hornets a 2-1 win.

Each team is now 5-1.
