Park Center Football Falls to Irondale in Season Opener

2:57 PM | Friday, September 4, 2026

The Park Center football team lost 28-6 to Irondale in the season opener in Brooklyn Park Thursday.

Irondale built a 14-0 halftime lead and was up 21-0 after three quarters.

Caden Hanson scored all four touchdowns for the Knights.

Park Center’s only score came in spectacular fashion as Joe Jacobs, who’d just moved over from receiver to replace injured quarterback Desmond Slocum, chased down an errant shotgun snap and threw deep to Andre Nelson, who outjumped two defenders to catch the ball and cross the goal line just before the ball was knocked away.

Park Center hosts Armstrong in game two.
