Metro North, Metro West Tie 7-7 at All-Star Baseball Series

The Metro North and Metro West teams played to a 7-7, 8-inning game in their match-up at the annual high school all-star baseball series.

The tournament featured several local players—Griffin Booms of Heritage Christian, Frank Mausser and Van Tellier of Hopkins, Maple Grove’s Evan O’Dwyer and Oliver Taynton, plus Matthew Berkland—all were on the Metro West team.

The Metro North included Park Center/Maranatha’s Adam Aasen and Pirates’ head coach Bernard Brinkley plus Champlin Park’s Rhys George.

Aasen’s two-run double in the eighth inning highlighted play for the local players with Berkland and Taynton both scoring runs in the game.

Metro North and Metro West each finished 1-1-1 in the two-day tournament.
