Hopkins Legion Baseball Edged by Buffalo in Delano Tournament

The Hopkins Post 320 American Legion baseball team fell 3-2 to Buffalo on day two of pool play at the Delano Stars and Stripes 4th of July tournament Thursday afternoon.

Pitchers Van Tellier of Hopkins and Will Miriovsky of Delano matched zeroes through five innings.

Buffalo broke the deadlock in the bottom of the sixth, scoring three runs on a single, a sacrifice fly, and a wild pitch.

A two-run double by Lincoln Heath in the top of the seventh brought Hopkins within 3-2 but that’s as close as they could get.

The tournament continues through Saturday.
