Hopkins Football Optimistic About Continued Growth in 2026
The Hopkins football program has kept stacking wins since Chauncy Williams-Barefield took over as head coach in 2024.
The Royals went from three straight years of zero wins from 2021-2023, to three wins in 2024 and just a game under .500 (4-5) last fall.
This year, Hopkins is eager to try and keep the upward trend going within their program.
Dual-threat quarterback Tre Moore is back under center and will lead the Royals offense along with running back Demetric Wleh.
On the defensive side of the ball, Will and Ben Johnston will be key lineman for Hopkins. The Johnson twins and senior linebacker Andre Naranjo-Rivera are captains for the Royals.
Hopkins will play the defending AAAAAA Prep Bowl champions Edina on the road on September 3rd to kick off the season.
