Champlin Park Legion Baseball Wins Again in Substate Play
The Champlin Park American Legion baseball team beat the St. Michael Mikes 5-3 in the winner’s bracket of the Substate 8 tournament in Princeton Thursday afternoon.
St. Michael grabbed a 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning, scoring on an RBI single, a sacrifice fly, and bases loaded walk.
The Rebels answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame, taking advantage of a couple of costly errors by the Mikes.
Dillon McNamara’s RBI double in the third tacked on another run and that’s how it stayed.
Champlin Park is the last unbeaten team in the double elimination tournament.
