CCX Media is seeking a part-time Producer/Host who will produce, deliver, and write stories for broadcast and for the web. This person will join an award-winning team to produce city and community focused content. This position requires in person work and is typically weekdays with limited weekend and evening assignments. CCX Media is the local community media organization operating under the umbrella of the Northwest Suburbs Cable Communications Commission.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

· Works independently and as a team to set up, conduct interviews, and cover stories in the field

on deadline.

· Schedules and runs ongoing meetings with city communication coordinators to set topics.

· Contacts cities for topic information and production elements.

· Write, voice stories for the channel, YouTube, and web.

· Write posts for social media and website content.

· Writes and hosts on channel intros and bridges.

· Assist with the creation of rundowns for channel segments.

· Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

· Maintains good working relationships with local cities.

· Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production

quality.

 

Requirements and Skills

· Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field.

· 2-4 years’ experience as a content generator.

· Fluency in English.

· Possess excellent writing skills for both broadcast and web.

· Possess knowledge of AP Style.

· Knowledge of Final Cut Pro X a plus.

· Familiar with city government structure and processes.

· Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

· Proficiency with computers, telephones, and other office equipment.

· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

 

Benefits

This is a 20 hour per week position with an hourly range of $20.00 to $23.00 per hour. CCX Media offers a comprehensive employee benefits package for employees that average 20 hours or more per week that includes Health, Dental and Life insurance. Benefits also include the PERA pension plan.
