Stages Theatre Co. Presents ‘Madagascar: A Musical Adventure’

A local group of actors and actresses wants us to “move it, move it!”

Stages Theatre Co. is putting on a musical adaptation of the DreamWorks animated movie “Madagascar.”

“Everything that goes into the show, the lighting, the costume pieces, the set pieces, just bring the show together. It’s just super fun to be in and super fun from an audience perspective to watch,” said Layla Traufler, who plays Marty the Zebra.

The show offers dancing, creative costumes and some important life lessons.

“Marty definitely strikes me as someone who doesn’t care what other people think. And I really love that. I really love how that can translate into my own life because it kind of teaches me also ‘just live my life,’ to be who I can be, and to just have fun with it,” said Traufler.

The Stages production of “Madagascar: A Musical Adventure” runs through Aug. 3.
