Robbinsdale School Board Member Bowman Suspends Re-Election Campaign, Cites Husband’s Health
Robbinsdale Area School Board Member ReNae Bowman has announced she is suspending her re-election campaign, citing her husband’s “poor health” as the reason for the decision.
Bowman made the announcement at the Sept. 1 board meeting.
“I am his caretaker. Attending meetings over the last four years as his health has declined was not much of an issue,” said Bowman. “But being absent for months on the campaign trail will take an incredible toll on my family.”
The announcement comes during a pivotal time for the district.
A referendum is on the fall ballot that features three questions totaling more than $400 million.
If approved, the funding will allow the district to make strategic decisions concerning school buildings to match its Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 plan.
“Although it was really a tough decision, it was made easier by seeing the strong slate of competent candidates that are emerging around this election. These are folks who support our superintendent, who support our referendum, and most importantly support our students,” stated Bowman.
