Robbinsdale Police First in the Nation To Launch Bridge911 App

Public safety is now a tap away for Robbinsdale residents. The city’s police department is the first in the nation to offer the Bridge911 app.

The app, which replaces the city’s Tip411 system, has multiple uses, including getting crime alerts and updates on street closures and snow emergencies.

Residents can also submit tips directly to police through the Bridge911. The app also allows users to verify an officer’s identity, ensuring the Robbinsdale officer at their door is legitimate, an important check following last year’s legislative shootings involved a man who pretended to be law enforcement.

Officers still ask that you call 911 for emergencies, but Robbinsdale police Sgt. Chris Woodhall said Bridge911 is a great addition to the department’s toolbox.

“Trying to secure that down so you know when you’re talking to a police officer, [an] employee of the city when you need help is invaluable,” Woodhall said.

The switch to Bridge911 took effect July 6. 

Bridge911 is available on Apple’s App Store and Google Play. The department also launched a portal for incident transparency on its website, where people can view publicly released video, reports and documents from police incidents.

Residents can use Bridge911 to report tips to the Robbinsdale Police Department.
