Police Find Body in Golden Valley’s Twin Lake

Law enforcement officers recovered a body in Golden Valley’s Twin Lake yesterday while searching for a missing person.

According to a statement issued by the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, the Golden Valley and Minneapolis police departments requested assistance in a missing persons search at Twin Lake at 7:25 a.m. on Sept. 2.

Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol deputies responded and searched the lake using an underwater remotely operated vehicle.

They found the body in about 19 feet of water.

“The individual was recovered from the lake and turned over to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office,” the statement read. “The incident remains under investigation, and the Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the individual’s identity and official cause of death.”
